Art blogging -

My Creative blog post on up date's

                                                                 for my artboard
Week one term one

My why for this year's board in Japan. More precisely the Japanese culture and their traditions.
The reason why I have chosen this particular subject for my artboard is that I've got this fascination with the culture. So what I've done is, I've created a board of love, tradition, and beauty.

My inspiration for the style of my work is from two artists that I like. One was Jacob Yikes, I like his style because he wasn't afraid to express things or wasn't afraid of making his work more, Outstanding. Yes, I know his work sometimes is out there, but that's what makes it unique. Another artist was Levalet, Charles Levalet. His painting was more focused on people. He has a very interesting style.

For how I was to express my love for there work, I dedicated one side of my board to each style. Board 1 , Jacob Yikes, and board 2, Charles Levalet.

Week 2-6

As I was developing my artworks I had changed my mind on my "why" a least 12 times. But with the help of my teacher and asking advise from fellow classmates I decided on the Japanese culture (as what's said in my week one blog.)
I created four peace's of artworks in the 3 weeks and have now started to develop another the first three were

A flower from a cherry blossom tree. A traditional style woman, Whom is tan and wearing make up, for getting married. Also with the word BLOSSOM behind her. Next, I developed a peace that I decided to make like Jacob yikes. The background as a galaxy symbolizing the case of information one has. Then I put an Ogre King mask ontop Because in the culture of japan the have festivals and there are masks there. Also in history is says that there were ogres and much more different fantasy, creatures.

Trem 2 Week 1-4

In the last 4 weeks, I've been developing a piece of artwork that took a lot of time and effect of the product. This peace is divided into a grid of three. On the left side, there is the entrance to a shrine with the guardian fox protecting the front gate, there is also in Japanese kanji above the gate to the shrine. In the bottom grid and part of the top left side grid, there is a lady whom is sweeping flower away, she is in the traditional style clothing for women who respect god.
In the last grid, top right. There is a dragon that was created by the Japanese as there god. That's why in history some of the emperors are known as "The Emperor of the Dragon" or "The Dragon Emperor"

Week 5-10

These weeks I've been messing around and producing peaces of artworks that are probably not good enough for my board.

I produced these masks and I'm thinking that they are good enough to be put onto my board.

Term 3 Week 1-10

These weeks I have produced more works to go on my boar and I am almost finished. All that I've got left to do I'll be doing in the holidays when the art room is open. These are some pictures of what I've produced. During the holidays, I went in to produce more works and to fix up some of my works.
Miss Keene and I went through a Japanese culture book to get ideas for my work. We decide to produce two works that were the shape of fans. (I'll show you the picture reference).

Term 4 Week 1

This week's focus is finishing my board by Wednesday. On Monday I'm going to paint the pictures I've drawn. Then I'm going to do some linocuts and print them off with black paint, When there dry I'm going to paint the flowers. And I'll also paint over the phoenix's tail with pink watercolor.
Tuesday: Today I'm going to paint the Koi fish with the Lilly pad, Then I'm going to paint the dragon which I got the inspiration from "spirited away". Then I'm going to fix the peace which has the cherry blossoms and the sunset behind them, which also has the pond in front. I'm going to change the pattern to flowers and it's going to have a black background. Wednesday: Today I've asked Miss Clemence if I can spend the day in the Artroom. I finished my board today. I'm proud of myself.

Here are the pictures of it finished.
